Floor Bonding

Adhesive bonding of the wooden floor decking in buses has become very common because of the benefits it offers to the passenger (less vibration, improved sound damping), the bus operator (improved corrosion protection, no damage to the preservative timber treatment) and the bus manufacturer (savings in production time and costs).

Advantages for the vehicle manufacturer:

  • labour-saving assembly methods cut production time and costs (no need to drill hundreds of holes for screw-fixing, no need to remove swarf).

Advantages for the vehicle operator:

  • no damage to the preservative timber treatment
  • improved corrosion protection (no drilling of holes)
  • improved ride comfort

More comfort for the passenger:

  • less vibration
  • better sound damping
  • increased torsional stiffness
